Location Pleasant staff Good parking facilities comfortable bed
Room too dark, poor lighting Infrequent hot water in the shower Pool area too shady Late check-in
great colonial atmosphere very friendly staff good restaurant a pleasure to stay in this hotel
check out is a bit slow
The staff could not have been friendlier, more helpful, or more pleasant. (Same with the people in the town.) They all seem to genuinely enjoy working there. The hotel embodies all the things I love about travel in Mexico--the hotel itself is a "museum/historical" experience, funky and elegant at the same time. I would like to check in for a week with a bathing suit, some good books, and no alarm clock. Loved our room with the balcony overlooking the pool.
Beautiful colonial building, with an ambient and stylish feel. Wonderful restaurant, serving local dishes and fantastic drinks, in a romantic, peaceful and authentic courtyard. Lovely pool area and large rooms. Perfect location, being directly opposite the central square and cathedral, and just a few blocks from the cenote. The staff were absolutely lovely!
Meson del Marques is a beautiful old building filled with history and has been converted into a fantastic hotel. The restuarant is probably the best in Valladolid. The location is great to base yourself for more adventure in the Yucatan.
Outstanding location to walk about the city and overall quaint accommodations.
Was charged for seven margaritas rather than the five we had during dinner at the hotel restaurant. Waiter preferred to argue with us and stated it was impossible to overing as they had an inside "system" that keeps count of served drinks. I have one too, pacing myself on what I drink and holding on to the straws of all drinks to keep my own count. At the end I had to pay for the seven margaritas but left no gratuity.
The hotel is a colonial house right in front of the main plaza. The architecture is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. Loved my stay there and would definitely stay there again. Great location and service for the price.
Very nice and flexible staff and super room. From the beginning to the end we had a nice stay. The Restaurant is awesome and also not to expensive.
The bathroom was directly next to our bed and the door was just kind of shades.
Se demoraron mucho en el servicio Check in and Check out (they take to long)
Rooms are nice and well-equipped, though they are not very roomy. Large free parking for guests, which is always convenient in town. Restaurant is very good, with a wide selection of typical dishes, all very well prepared.
A parking attendant signaled to us what he thought appeared like a slow leak on our tire, and offered to get it fixed in the morning if it had deflated during the night. Sure enough, it had deflated... Of course, we gave him a tip for his services. He was either extremely helpful, or he helped himself, we'll never know for sure...
A little inner city oasis. Beautiful setting, great pool and good restaurant. Quite european and I can highly recommentd
The swiming pool, the location in the city center were excellent !
The waiters in the restaurant were excellent, friendly but very professional. They were the reason we ate exclusively at the hotel. The front desk personnel were also very good. We also enjoyed the pool area, very quiet and private. We loved being at the hotel and if we hadn't been catching a flight out of the Cancun Airport the next day we would have loved to have stayed another few nights. Hopefully we can make it back to the hotel again some time.
The only complain would be that the beds were a little on the hard side, but I still slept well and for one night it wasn't a big deal.
We liked practically everything about this hotel. It's location, on the main square, is perfect and their restaurant is simply an oasis serving delicious food. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
We really would have appreciated the convenience of a refrigerator in our room. Some rooms are located in a section of the hotel served by a lift but we were in a part without a lift and on the 4th floor which may be a problem for some guests but helped us to work of the calories gained in the restaurant!
Centrally located, this hotel allows a luxurious visit back to Spanish colonial times with a flair of wonderful Mayan culture. We stayed at the hotel to visit local ruins, cenotes and farther cultural visits but could easily (and equally) have enjoyed just the safe and comfortable hotel environment. The staff bent over backwards to assure everything was perfect. Price was surprisingly low.
